With great sadness, we announce...

Billy Jack McDaniel, Jr.,40, husband, father, author, evangelist, and inspirational speaker, went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at his home in Florence. Family and friends will gather at 6 PM on Tuesday, July 19th at The South Warehouse located at 627 E. Silas Brown Street in Jackson. A Memorial Service will begin at 6:15 PM followed by a reception and celebration of Jack's life at 7 PM.

A native of Laurel, Jack was reared in Ovet and spent most of his life in Florence. He worked as a derrick-man with H&P Drilling Oil Field and was injured March 3, 2006. Jack was an inspiration to many because of his zest for life, his faithfulness to God, and his love for family and friends. After his accident he became a licensed evangelist through the Southern Baptist Convention. A faithful friend with the heart of a lion, he was the noted author of Dead Man Breathing. Jack attended Briar Hill Baptist Church.

Jack was preceded in death by his grandmother, Delores McDaniel. He is survived by his wife of nineteen years, A'Leta Combs McDaniel; daughter, Carney McDaniel; mother, Hope Delaughter; cousin, Chris McDaniel; his service dogs, Dallas, Tooti, Valle, and Lola Belle; fellow workers on the rig; family; and a host of friends and followers around the world.

This is not the end of the McDaniel family and Billy Jack's legacy, but only the beginning. Through many trials and tribulations I have watched A'Leta & Carney McDaniel persevere through true hell this past year. It has not been without failure, sadness, and anger at times - but through all of that, they are working hard daily to figure out & understand how to live life without our beloved, Billy  Jack.
